Dentistry vs Pharmacy vs Medic

I always being ask by my students this sem (medic,pharm & denti):
"why we should learn math especially trigo?"....
Act they do not ask me directly....but looking at their faces every time I come to class and every time I start the lecture (about trigo) makes me feel that they are actually want to ask that kind of question.....
So,one day ,I try to ask them the question sound something like this:

"Did u ever think,why as a medical/pharm/denti students,u should take this subject or learn all those things (trigo) which are not related to your field at all?"

Then the students answer:"so many times madam....."

Hahaha......with the answer,it is not juz answering a question....but so many questions in my mind......tq my bro & sis for being honest to me & especially to yourself.....

Then,I said to them:
"There are 2 reasons why as a medical/pharm/denti students u should learn this subject/specifically trigo which is for u it seems like it does not related to your field/profession later on......."

The first reason is:
1.Math is a part of science......all of u claim that u are the sciencess students rite?is any one feel that they are actually an art students?of course not......math is something about logical thinking.....u learn biology which is telling u about the fact, fact & fact......studying math act help you to brush up another side of your brain.....when u clerk a patient one day InsyaAllah (2-3 years from now),of course you will not tell them about half-angle,double-angle,inverse trigo etc........but,as a doctor you are always face the situation whereby you should make a decision on the spot since you are dealing with people's life or death..........

In this situation sometimes using fact doesn't works or sometimes u need the fact+logical thinking to help u to make an accurate,faster & the best decision for the sake of your patients..........

Act math is something that u cannot see in front of you directly......for example,u see a bridge & u know that the bridge was built by an engineer & design by an architect......do u think that they are not using math application at all to built that bridge?
Think about it.......

Of course you will not see the application of trigo function,differentiation,algebra etc on the bridge.....
Like I said before math is something  that u can't see......but it is actually there....behind the scene......in fact all of our daily life is related to mathematics.........

For example: what is time now?how much did u spend today?how much time do u need to finish up your assignment?

It is good to be a doctor/pharmacist/dentist........but it is better to be a doctor/pharmacist/dentist who are logical & critical thinker..............

The second reason is:
2.One day,when you have a children & your children ask you about trigo,u know how to answer........=)
(To avoid them saying that:"mama & papa ni,nama je doktor,tp soalan senang trigo pun xtau jawab...hehehe,,,just joking)
